Bedtime story about me and handbags

Technically, I am not a huge fan of handbags. While I use it daily to work, I didn`t make an interest about collecting handbags as many ladies do. I saw friends of mine were crazy about LV and other luxury brands, I wasn`t as intrigued about it.

Until recently when I saw my housmate with her new denim LV handbag fresh from Paris, ok- that was the point when my eyes were wide open. I started to probe her about the handbag, where she bought, how much it costs, can I ask her parents to buy me the same handbag on their next trip -(of course on my own pocket money :p), and the interogation went on and on until she said that she was planning to go to Paris quite soon.

C`mon, it's LV and it's chic look, unlike LV typical boring leather big shoulder handbag. How can I stay incurious? Hehe

                                                                                                             source : Internet

The conversation ended there, but not my mind and the desire for new handbag. Crazy! On the next day, I started browsing the internet to see the handbag from LV website and shifted to Coach website. It was happened that one of my collegues was preparing for a business trip to US in a week time, even sooner. That was the  best chance. A handbag model was identified and the deal was made with the officemate.

Three weeks of waiting with patient, finally I got the package fresh from US with much cheaper price than one in Malaysia. What a good saving~ Oh wait, the same model was not there in Coach KLCC when I went eyeing for it.

Anndd tadaaa!~ Safely opened and ready to be brought to KL for the next trip. Hihi.

It was not even after 24 hours I got my new handbag, something came up. And out of the blue, I was given another Coach handbag from a dear friend. Truly unexpected. Rejeki~

Ok, this is too much for non-handbag lover. It seems like I gotta freeze any purchase until years to come. Hihi.

Fine dining? Oh yes, pls!

I have been traveling back and forth to KL quite  frequently for the past few weeks. I don`t know about others, but for me, it was an exhausting routine for mental and physical to be on-the-go longer than usual. Therefore, I resolved to indulge something therapeutic to unwind while on business trips. And it was no other than my favourite past time activity -eating- fine dining at fine restaurants! I know, gedix!

Plus, most of the restaurants are not available at Kerteh. So it looks like it is the best time to try the delicacies in those restaurants while on business trips. Most of the meetings that I attended were held at KLCC, so these restaurants are basically located in KLCC lah, hokeii..

At Chakri Palace with KY, I had had nasi goreng bla bla with chicken satay. Hmm.. the taste was so-so. Huhu. And the price? well,I warn you might get choked if you are not prepared with the sufficient cash in your wallet or credit card upon seeing the bill. Quite pricey for the average dishes.

But if you plan to dine-in with a group of friends or family, the table setting and the food selections are suitable for the big crowd.  I guess that is the Thai dining style, after all.

Madam Kwan also with KY, every time I visited here, this kway tiow is the best selection. It is served in big capacity and enough to make me feel full throughout the night. French fries to add some flavour, munching while chit-chatting.=))

                                                                Ipoh Kway Teow

At Bens with JuZie, we both went there for the first time with the intention to have light bites after watching Johnny English.

Skimming the menu, we chosed our own piece of cake and glass of hot and cold chocolate together with french fries. Super muak!

It turned out, the pieces of cake were served, OMG, this is too much! Surely I wouldn't be able to finish them alone when I was not at the top of my best appetite. We bet the waiter must have laughed behind our back seeing how innocent and confident we ordered our so-called light deserts. Newbie!  Haha

                                                                                     Ben`s chocolate cake

Certainly we didn't allow any wastage, therefore we requested the leftover cake to be packed.

they got special paper bag for take away. Cool!

At Little Penang Cafe with Ziela and Ainul, we walked in there half an hour before lunch hour. Thankfully we managed to grab the seats. I opted for char kuew tiaw. Hmmm, not as awesome as one in Madam Kwan. Perhaps I have yet to  try its specialty, for there was super long queue  after 1 o'clock outside the premise waiting to be served.

char kuew tiaw

At Secret Recipe with Ainul and Zaira. I tried the beef lasagne. Hmm quite oily. I think it tasted better in Pizza Hut.

At Dome with Zaira, before waiting What`s your Number, we spent some time chit chatting while having its specialty italian warmer, spicy olio pasta. Hmm..just-good. =))

Scrumptious lunch dishes at Seri Pacific

One good thing about attending training at hotel is that the free lunch is provided by hotel.Yippi! It was 4-day training. There were arrays of food selections for the luncheons. And the menu repeats everyday. So I guess there was no rush for me to shove every scrumptious foods in one day, no?

I had a feeling to taste almost all of them. But there are times when look see-ing the dishes was enough to satisfy my appetite.Huhu.

                                                                   mussels, prawns

                                                                rice with assorted lauk

                                                                      rojak buah and fried chicken

Hotel Seri Pasifik, KL

It was the first SKG training that I attended this year. And it was organized at Seri Pacific Hotel. I chose to stay at club floor where the essential needs for a traveler like me highly anticipated. Internet connection.Yes it is! *wink**

The hotel is situated at Jalan Putra, opposite The Mall and next to PWTC. So, finding food at night was not big issue when staying here.

                                                                                                     the lobby

the reflective lift door is useful for a quick glance in the morning before attending the class. Hihi

                                                                                       the pathway to room

                                                                                 Entering the room andd~

hmm  not so confined bathroom and yet it has good lighting in the morning

complimentary fresh fruits. Ahhh I was starving!

Another complimentary for the club floor guests is that we were privileged to have the breakfast at the club lounge, level 30.  Upon registering myself , I found that I was having the breakfast in the same room with a number of Datuks. It was kinda poshy ambiance, and yet I wasn't quite comfortable with the quiet  environment, and decided to have the breakfast on the next day downstairs at level 3 with other common guests with a lloott more scrumptious dishes.

Well, probably it was a different story if it was Datuk celebrity, no? Hehe

                                                                     bon appetit

And another complimentary given was free cocktail from 6-8.30 pm which is more like high tea. Free food, I like!

Going places-the photobook

It was one of the days back in uni when Ju Zie and I were browsing a Matta Fair leaflet which was brought home by one of our friends who went there. It was during early years of our friendship and one thing I didn't know about her was that she likes to berangan about future things.

One of the places that we saw was the beautiful islands in Korea. We were awestruck by the beautiful pictures of Korea and Ju Zie started to go on and on about us going there together someday. I, with an absent-minded just played along with her daydream as if I was as intrigued as her. Hihi.

I mean, at that point,I was thinking that traveling was not even a slight interest that I would do when I earned my own money.

Two years down the road, we started our employment, out of the blue she brought up back the traveling plan. And when I told her I wasn't interested, she freaked out. And I was like,

oh man, I thought you`re not that serious

Haha.

Nevertheless.

Things change everyday in our life . And so was the mindset about traveling. Little that I expected, after almost 4 years of my employment and over six years of friendship, we have charted a number of places across the globe with her then-bf, now-husband, Hizam and my another bestie, Zaira as well as other travelmates.

When it comes to planning a trip, the most exciting part was the adrenaline rush that we felt during the ticket booking at the peak promotion hours. Oh yesss.. especially when we successfully grabbed the best-or in layman's term - cheapest price for a bunch of friends, that was the ultimate satisfactory!

cover page

Our goal in every places that we went was capturing the beautiful scenery pictures as much as possible and the spontaneous actions! Capturing the moment without printing it could be risky. You know, hard disk drive probably is not as reliable to store the pictures as long as we wanted. To reduce the risk of losing the memories due to disk corruption or crash, it is better of to store them in a photo album, or even nicer, print them with cute decoration in a photobook!

This is my first photobook, about places that we went. Courtesy and sweet thought from Ju Zie`s creativity. *grin**

Well, it is not necessarily limited to places only, other special occasions such as for wedding pictures collections, birthday celebrations, newborn scrap book, you name it. And I bet, giving this to people we care as a gift is the sweetest thought someone could ever received.
