Big Bad Wolf 2014

12th Dec 2014

Last year I cudnt make it to this annual exhibition, so this year I determine to go and see it by myself and buy myself the books.

Yes, there were a lot of people in the hall, but we still can choose the books at peace. Good thing is that the organizer has also provided basket for the visitors,so it saved us from bring our own trolley bag to buy masses of books at one go.

The price of the books are unbelievably cheap and I took my own sweet time to find my usual fictional books.

It was not hard to find the books of my favourite authors, well, I was over the moon. Picked up the books without seeing the price tag. And just to find out the cost is less than RM60 for all these books I chose.

This is heaven for book lovers. Must.come.next.year!

Aging Gracefully with SKII. (Meowww~)

It started about two years back, when I was having severe skin allergic at u-zone of my face. The worse acne allergic were all over my face, but thankfully they were well covered by my hijab.

The process of healing the allergic effect was not found overnight. I went through series of  "try and error" skincare products and just to find out that the efforts went straight to the drain. Hmpphh..

I was  using the other Japan skincare products back then ( I dunno, but  I have certain degree of confidence in using Japan products ), but due to the prolong allergic effects, I started to use all ranges of skincare to cure them  from as cheap as rice soap until I decided to try the priciest skincare I ever known, SKII.

Until I went to see the doctor, then only I started to find the true cure to my horrible acne attack. It's not that the use of it has solved the entire allergic problem, but boy, I found it hard to stop using it when I started feeling the result of it over time.

When consuming skincare, anti aging stuff or any other beauty products , I have the belief good products show result slower but lifelong, if it is maintained properly.  So nothing much difference that I expected overnight, but wait I until I grow wiser ..( I refuse to use word older here. Kah kah kah)

Good thing I enjoy shopping for this skincare is that they give free mini size of other products for certain amount of purchase...

....Which is just perfect for traveling kit. So you get some stuff you bought along with some gifts. Isn't it fun to shop more? Tee hee...

When reaching Christmas season, the bargain becomes a lot more overwhelming. Using points collected  from previous purchases for the entire year, we will get more free gift for redemption, some of them worth hundred ringgit of face masks, and other fabulous skincare stuff that you won't bother to buy in regular purchase.

I was happened to visit the store to replenish my stuff and apparently I have ended up buying a little more than planned but received a lottttt more gifts than I have expected. Weee hoo~

Nuttela Pod

Let's talk about food some more. I've been meaning to do something new, but not so sure what to do.

The idea popped in my mind in one of my lazy weekend on raining Friday. It is November, means that monsoon season is starting to show up nowadays.

This whole idea was triggered from conversation with Ainul via whatsapp, who brought nutella pod for her officemates.  Knowing that the recipe is easy to do, and when I know that it costs RM15 for 10 pcs of them, I just couldn't wait to try it myself. As suggested by Ainul, I got the recipe from here .

The ingredients are easy to get, and it doesn't require so much time to bake a tray of them. Just 10 minutes at 180 degree C. I use chopstick to make an indentation and icing pipe to insert the nutella into it. Smudge- free.! Nevertheless, every pod is "vanished" just when nuttella is inserted in it. All my siblings are at home, I barely able to save a container of them by the time second round of the mix is baked. Ho ho.

I kept doing the same process from 11 o'clock in the morning until last tray in the oven at 7 o'clock in the evening. Thankfully the few last batches were successfully saved to be brought to office on the next day. I finished full jar of nutella, and left another jar at home for the next weekend's plan. I came home 5 days later just to see an empty jar, the nuttella was exhausted by siblings due to prolong starvation in the past raining days. Bertuah!

Normal nuttella pod I saw was just plain nuttela filling in it. But I chose to use crush almond on top it, just to add some cosmetic value on it. Hi hi.

Jeruk Mempelam Asam Boi- the recent craving phenomenal.

Skimming newsfeed on my FB page, it seems like many of my friends are 'talking' about this jeruk mempelam asam boi. Looking at the pictures that were posted, I didn't care less, initially.

Until one day when one of my officemates brought it to work. I started to get a taste of one piece and the rest is history. (Ok this might sound a bit drama la kann).

Yes I can opt for buying the ready made from the other friends at office (I'm telling you this jeruk is phenomenal at our place nowadays), but I decided to be rather thoughtful. Heh heh.

So I went to buy the mango , guave, asam boi ,chilies to give some hot flavour in it.Small chilies are the right choice, actually.

It is not that hard to do it, just chop and mix everything with some sugar altogether. The water from fruits will settle overnight, which will add flavour to this.

And I brought it to office, and voila! It lasted by lunch time. The mango that I bought were enoug for three days supplies of jeruk mangga asam boi for the team at office. I didn't actually eat much of them, for preparing and serving them to friends are enough to make me feel content about it. hi hi.

Kinohitmitsu Diamond Collagen

The idea of consuming collagen on regular basis didn't really appeal to me until this year, when I (ehem!) reached age of 30. Yes, you got it right, 30.!

I have this awareness that collagen content in our body starts to decrease when we get older. Old in my biological vocab is when I passed the 20 series. Ha Ha.

Selecting the collagen on the shelves at drug store can be overwhelming, as all brands are there. Not to mention the ones that are sold on the internet (with over the top testimonials and super close-up pics attached, errrrr, ).

I have this one kind of interest and trust to Japan made products. With its bottled packaging, it is plus point for me, especially when I am on the go. And did I tell you it tastes yummy too?So I chose this Kinohimitsu Diamond Collagen. One good tips that I read , normal collagen price ranges RM 130- RM 160 for one month consumption.  Referring to this product, I would prefer buying 2 months supply, which is  definitely a bargain.

Speaking of the result using this collagen, honestly I am not good at articulating how good this collagen has brought beauty out of myself (if only it has, well you knowww..). Definitely I feel good about it, that I hardly think of stopping consuming it so far. Nonetheless, after months of using this product, Alhamdulillah , I keep receiving positive feedback from people who I occasionally met and the same remark is "makin berseri2.." *miawww*

Ok, shut up.

Intercontinental Hotel, KL

28-30 August 2014

As far as I could remember, this is the second time that I visited this hotel after like, errrr... years. So this time I was attending a so-called conference namely Women In Engineering Leadership Intensive 2014.  Yeaa, it might sound so wow but in reality, there were so many things from the seminar being over-rated and we can consider ourselves as being over-expecting. But hey, I was glad to meet a bunch of young and poised career women slash singles slash mothers slash boss slash blah blah blah, and it was, incredible!(Did I say inspiring too? Yes, it is.).

Ok, what all these that I am blabbering about? Let's get straight to the hotel room of this formerly known as Niko Hotel, shall we?

The good side about this second visit that my room was upgraded to club suite , yes!

The room is spacious, just spacious enough for my mental expectation and comfort. Yea..gedik , I know. *wink*

One thing I like to survey first step into a hotel room is its bathroom . You can tell how luxury and comfortable your stay from the sight of its bathroom size. Well, at least that what I've been thinking to myself, and to some extent, it's true.

The hotel has also has provided the pillow options, for a person who sleeps on the back and on the side. Both style are provided with different set of pillow, upon request. As for me , I just couldn't care less, so long the room is sound-proof enough, I'm sure I'll be having a tight sleep then.

Likewise other luxury rooms that I have stayed before, this room is also featured with glass that we can  see thru the bathroom. Fret not,the blind is there, one can use the bathroom safely without being scared of being peeped. (Only if it is not your spouse I guess, I don't know).

And they provide the coffee maker with various selections of coffee too! It just that I am not into coffee too much, or I`ll be wide awake all night if I did it once.

Speaking of toiletries, they are so generous, and yes, I requested another set of them just to maximize bathtub experience. Yeeay!

Skytrex, Shah Alam

26th October 2014

This is another long overdue activity since last year. Yes, one of the reason apart from the distance constraint is that I was not serious into planning this.

So there were Zaira and me for this plan. There are a few sessions a day that we have to select upfront via its website, and the degree of difficulties. We decided to go for the extreme challenge.

We selected session at 8.30am which started with registration and group briefing.

After that, we resumed to get the harness for each of us.

Yes, first timer for me and straight to extreme challenge. It was like, if I can make it for bungy jump the day before, this challenge will be like, alaaaahh~

We joined in a group of 25 pax. All of us started the challenge by climbing the ladder. We chose to be the last women standing. Ewah~

I let Zaira climbed first, and the rest of photo taking will have to be selfie laa.. Boring.

The intensity of the challenges in Skytrex is its height. The more challenge we take means the higher that we have to climb.

Zaira left me all the way ahead, but I still busying myself with selfie. Haishhh..Can you see how high I was? Bole tahan nervous, but safety caution is taken as all of participants are equipped with the harness, so insya Allah you'll safe from fall down to the ground.

We completed the challenges after over one hour or so. It might look easy, but we are all sweaty like nobody's business.

It was fun at the end of the challenges.

And we have muscle ache the following day, cant help. huhu

Bungy Jump and Sunway Lagoon day!

25th October 2014

Sunway Lagoon is one of the places I wanted to go before nxt year. There is one thing  I want to do there, apart from screaming my heart out loud on the roller coaster, that is bungy jump! The intention just stayed there, at the back of my mind, until Fiza surfaced the idea during our chit chat in group whatsapp.

Coincidentally it was a long holiday from work, and  business trip to KL on the following week. I leapt at the idea instantly. Bungy jump might be accomplished in this visit, that was I thought in my enthusiasm at the idea of going to Sunway Lagoon soon.

We arrived after 10 o'clock to see long queue already formed at the counter.

We started at scream park, just to gauge how scary the horror performance inside the ghost house before we decided whether or not to grab ticket into Friday Night of Fright which coincidentally scheduled on the night.

This theme park is relatively smaller as compared to other theme parks that I have visited before, obviously... like Disneyland, USS and etc. So we managed to cover all parks, hopped on almost all extreme rides, thanks to short queue and off season . Otherwise , we might not be this lucky no matter how small the theme park is.

Good news is that the musolla is provided just inside the park area, so it was a lot convenient for us to perform all obligations before we resumed to the more extreme activities... like, err... bungy jump perhaps (Yes, at this point of time I was starting to having the second thought about it.. The fears already crept in, you know.)

Perhaps the prayer time is a good pause for us to 'medidate' for a while, for  having some serene time, long prayer asking God to give me  the courage to jump afterwards. (Seriously, this nervousness felt like shite)

We had had popcorn for our lunch before we proceed to the world longest suspension bridge. We told among ourselves, this is just to get the feeling of the height before we could decide whether we have the courage to jump. At the end of the bridge is another activities that we could join freely, that is flying fox.

Zera, Fiza and I were queuing for flying fox, while my brain was working overtime in summoning the courage to brave myself to make the bungy jump. I never thought the process was stressful as this. Well, I have been dreaming of doing this back in Dungun, came all the way to SunwayLagoon a few days earlier than my business trip, and just to face the hesitance and fear to some extent I couldn't control them.

Being me, I hate it when I am being put in situation I couldn't control especially when dealing with my own inferiority. While on the other hand, Fiza which was still in positive spirit kept on coaxing me into doing it, as she seemed ever- ready to do it in no time. And I was torn with my fear and determination. Oh this stressed me out.

It took me almost an hour while in queue for flying fox, to brave myself to proceed with it. So we went to the ticket booth and once the ticket was purchased, I started to shut off my mind from thinking of the fears of jumping to death. I was silent along the walk to the platform. The nervous was still lingering I subconsciously barely able to speak with them. I just want to get over with it quick.

So I chose to jump first before Fiza, before I chickened out upon seeing her upcoming drama, just in case.

The moment I stepped onto the edge of platform, I just couldnt wait any longer. Before the fear stopped me, I jumped in no time.

One thing I discovered about myself, I lost the voice to shout when my fear reached the max! But when I was in suspended position, the fear was gone, and I started enjoyed the adrenaline rush. It was a by far the most.satisfactory.action.I.did.ever.

One tips before making this jump, you don't look to the bottom before you jump, or most probably you couldn't bring yourself to jump. As the instructor's advise , look ahead. Seriously it works big time.

Zaira was reluctant to do it initially, but when she saw us receiving her certificate, definitely she felt challenged! Ha ha!So instantly she subscribed herself for the jump even though we can see the fear in her eyes.

Yes, there was some drama that we have to watched, and (hush) the instructor started to yawn while waiting for her. But nonetheless, she made it as well!
